Muhammad ‘Smash’ Nour Claims Second Saracens Title in Seven Days; ‘The Egyptian Zombie’ Feasts Again!

Nour

In the wake of newly-crowned Predator Fight Series featherweight champion Amr ‘The Falcon’ Maher’s success last week, Muhammad ‘Smash’ Nour and Islam ‘The Egyptian Zombie’ Reda maintained momentum for the Saracens MMA team as they bested their opposition in scintillating fashion across both the AUFC and Evolution FC.

Nour (above), who became Saracens MMA’s second featherweight champion in seven days, outscored tough young contender Hassan Mahmoud on the scorecards, taking the victory (and the belt!) via split decision. A result greeted by jubilation by virtually the whole Saracens MMA team at cageside, Nour underlined his position as not only one of the very best coaches in Middle Eastern MMA, but also one of the most complete fighters.

Meanwhile, ‘The Egyptian Zombie’ continued his run of dominance with yet another first round submission victory over Egyptian national wrestling team member Azouz Anwar. As outlined by Amr Maher in his post-fight analysis, Reda transitioned through no fewer than eight successive submission attempts, before landing the fight-ending armbar and forcing the tap!

In a display of outstanding, highly technical grappling, Reda builds on wins at Phoenix FC: Road to Egypt, as well as a recent Evolution Grappling event. Check out the footage below (as well as the ‘Zombie’s awesome new highlight reel)!

The Night of the ‘Zombie’!

On the eve of Saturday July 28, ‘The Egyptian Zombie’ prepares to feast once again on sweet, sweet victory!

Islam Reda, who last graced the Evolution Fighting Championship BJJ circle with a dominant first round submission victory over Ahmed Mahmoud, posted yet another victory in an even more recent outing under the Phoenix: Road to Egypt banner. He will now look to add to those near-flawless victories tomorrow night at EFC: Clash of Heroes when he faces Azouz Anwar, a member of the Egyptian national wrestling team!

Having already dispatched two-time North African and Arabian Wrestling Champion Mohamed Ghalab at short notice (and at a higher weight class), Reda will be full of confidence heading into this bout with Azouz.

Still undefeated and with a perfect martial arts record across numerous disciplines, SaracensMMA.com would like to wish ‘The Zombie’ the very best of luck as he seeks to enhance his ever-growing reputation for quick finishes, dominant grappling, and an ability to shut out even the most decorated of opponents.

Good luck, Islam!

WATCH! Amr ‘The Falcon’ Maher Wins Predator Fight Series Featherweight Title, Overwhelms Juvanie Bacus in Philippines

AmrMaherTitleWin

SaracensMMA.com is delighted to announce that Team Quest Thailand-based featherweight Amr ‘The Falcon’ Maher was able to secure victory in his Predator Fight Series debut in the Philippines, clinching the Predator FS Featherweight title in the process.

Opponent Juvanie Bacus, a native Filipino fighter, had the support of fight fans within the Galleria, Home of Rock Marikina, but found himself overwhelmed by Maher, who fought superbly from the front foot en route to a first round rear naked choke submission victory. Subsequently Amr was awarded his first Championship belt on Asian soil – and it’s one we believe will be the first of many!

Now fully acclimatised to competing in foreign climes, the Egyptian ace will look to piece together a fearsome winning streak as he seeks to gain yet further momentum. A fighter who deserves to be on the radar of every major promotion on the continent, ‘The Falcon’ not only represented head coach Dylan Fussell superbly, but his homeland and his team, Saracens MMA.

Congratulations Amr! Go get ’em, champ!

Hassancito Abo Ali Places Third at 2018 African Professional Muay Thai Championship!

SaracensMMA.com is delighted to share a great moment for elite MMA and Muay Thai fighter Hassancito Abo Ali, who recently competed at the first ever African Professional Muay Thai Championship and finished in third place.

Abo Ali collected his bronze medal and certificate at the AUFC Academy in Cairo, Egypt, and Saracens captain Ahmed ‘The Prince’ Faress was there to congratulate him after the ceremony.

Faress, who cornered Abo Ali on the night of the fights (below), underlined his admiration for Abo Ali: “Hassancito fought superbly – it’s my opinion that Abo Ali did enough on the night to progress beyond the semi finals, but it wasn’t to be.”

The judges instead scored the fight in favour of his opponent from Cote d’Ivoire, Mohamed Doumbia, a result Hassancito accepted with good grace. Next time, SaracensMMA.com is confident Hassancito will bring back nothing but the gold medal!
